Name
- Oligodon wagneri David & Vogel, 2012
- Holotype: MNHN 1891.0233, juvenile male, collected by Mr. Jules Claine and deposited on July 23rd, 1891.
- Type locality: “Poulo Nias”, i.e. Pulau Nias (Nias Island), Nias Archipelago, Sumatera Utara Province, off the northern part of the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
- Etymology: Named in honour of Mr. Frederick W. Wagner, who noticed the distinct specific status of this new species and for his contribution to the systematics of the genus Oligodon.
