It is the fifth game from the main line of the Elder Scrolls series, and the eleventh in total. It is set in the northern country of Skyrim on the continent of Tamriel. Skyrim is home to the Viking-inspired Nords, and at the time of the game is embroiled in a civil war consisting of the Imperials and the Stormcloaks in the 201st year of the 4th Era.

The game succeeds The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006), and precedes The Elder Scrolls Online (2014 PC, 2015 Consoles).

In 2016, the Special Edition of the game was released, a remastered version that includes all official DLCs, and features an enhanced engine as well as the Creation Club, which offers official mods that you can buy for credits.

I'm pretty disappointed with my horse. He wasn't cheap -- 1000g -- but he just doesn't seem that fast. To make things worse, he's a bit of a wolf magnet and every time I get attacked I have to tediously dismount, blast the wolf, and then…

In Skyrim, what is the point of placing items into other people's inventories (reverse pick-pocketing)?

So in pick-pocketing, you have the option to steal from somebody's inventory, and/or place something into it. Outside of leveling exploits and quests, what function does placing actually have? Can you use for stealth kills or something?
