How to merge/combine files with extensions .001, .002, .003.. etc?

There are files on sites like rapidshare which have extensions like .001, .002, .003? They seem to be split by some tool. How to merge these files?

Concatenate files in order with type
I am trying to use this command:
type *.dump > total
in order to concatenate my .dump files into total.
However, the numbering of concatenation is wrong. For instance the files in order are:
cascade1.dump
cascade10.dump
cascade 11.dump

concatenate corresponding values of two cells with comma separated multiple values in it
In excel sheet I have cells with mulitple comma separated values. I want to concatenate the corresponding values of two cells. Example:
Cell_A1 (A,B,C,D) and Cell_B1 (E,F,G,H)
Then in Cell_C1 it should be (AE,BF,CG,DH).
