Cracking a password is more difficult. But using tools like Og Cuck, Hirens boot CD you can "disable" any password. Basically it clears the password from the password database file. No encrypted password = no password. This takes less than 3 minutes from boot to restart into desktop. – Piotr Kula Mar 21 '14 at 20:11

I would use Trinity Rescue Kit for this. Burn it to a CD, boot off it, and you can reset the administrator password.

I have no reason to believe Gooler's suggestion won't work but the one on Hiren's 10.4 will do that and will activate the account if desired even if it is deactivated.

Yea Hirens boot CD can "clear" the password, disable and enable other accounts. Hirens also has cracking tools but it will take years on a standard computer to crack or brute a Windows password. – Piotr Kula Mar 21 '14 at 20:12
