403 Forbidden? 401 Unauthorized?

What I've read on each so far isn't very clear on the difference between the two. What use cases are appropriate for each response?

  • 403 - Something about your request does not meet the criteria to view the page (roles, permissions, etc). 401 - Authentication is required to view this page. You must log in. – Ohgodwhy Oct 02 '20 at 14:45

You can try setting up Authentication again.

php artisan make:auth
