I've read that:
On 13 April 2000, for instance, several representatives of the EPP-ED (including some Belgian, Dutch and Italian Christian democrats as well as the French UDF) created a centre-right group inside the EPP-ED, the ‘Schuman group’, to protest against the acceptance of the OVP’s strategy among the EPP leadership and to reaffirm their allegiance to what they thought should be the common ethos of the EPP, namely traditional Christian democratic values and a strong commitment to a federal Europe. (In the spring of 2004, some of the founders of the Schuman group left the EPP-ED to create an autonomous group with a few centre-left parties.)
Who exactly was in that "Schuman group" and what was the "autonomous group" they ultimately created in 2004? (The paper doesn't get anymore specific than this in that regard.)
