Questions tagged [genre]

For general questions related to musical genres and how they are defined, grouped or marketed. Do not use this tag to identify a genre.

Genre, in reference to music, is a conceptual stylization of sound or ideas which allows artists to be grouped together. There are various motifs which bind these types of music, such as the grinding guitar riffs of Heavy Metal or the 12-bar/sad lyrics of Blues, which allow us to group these styles of music into specific "Genres".
