The origins of electronic music start in the late 19th century, where electronic music instruments were mainly an attraction and live performance tool. The instruments and equipment saw major improvements and innovations in the 20th century and the last milestone for electronic music is the digitalization of electronic music in the form of software music production.

What types of questions should/can be tagged with "electronic music":

  • Questions that refer to methods of music production or the difference in various types of music that relate to electronic music (e.g. "Are there any songs that mix acoustic guitar and electronic music?")
  • Questions about songs that are electronic music and the production method tag adds value to the question (e.g. "I'm looking for song X by Y", where X by Y is known to be an electronic music song)
