KML (Keyhole Markup Language) is an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard proposed by Google (who bought the Keyhole company in 2006).

KML is an international standard language for expressing geographic annotation and visualization on web-based online and mobile maps (2d) and earth browsers (3d).
