I try to get access to a GeoServer installation and forgot the password for it. I have root access to the host. Here is some server information:

Solutions I already tried and didn't work for me:
GeoServer - change Master Password - masterpw.info missing ## I changed all the files mentioned in the post, restarted the server but can not login with the data set in the XML-Files

Changing geoserver admin password ## Because I cannot log in to the web interface, I cannot change the password there.
Does anyone have an idea how I could gain access to the server again?
