The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 2017 action adventure that takes place in the Zelda Universe. It is the 19th main installment in The Legend of Zelda series. The game was released along side the Nintendo Switch, but it is also available for Wii U.

A beast known as Calamity Ganon has appeared in Hyrule, disturbing the peace of the land. The Princess and the Hero attempted to stop Calamity Ganon, but failed to. In light of this, the Sheikah awoke an army of mechanical guardians and four divine beasts in order to stop the evil. Although they managed to seal away Calamity Ganon in Hyrule Castle, the monster was able to take control over the Sheikah army, turning them against Hyrule. Because of this, the King of Hyrule has banished the Sheikah from all the land.

Links wakes up 100 years later after these events (having no recollection of them), and now must attempt to defeat Calamity Ganon before he grows too strong and breaks free from his captivity.
