The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid home and portable console by Nintendo. First announced in October 2016, the console was officially released on March 3, 2017.

The Nintendo Switch features both elements of mobile and home gaming. The console portion of the system features a touchscreen which can be removed from its docking station and used like a tablet. It can also be used in a tabletop format to allow for multiple users to play at once. With the console comes a Joy-Con controller which can be taken apart and placed on the sides of the console to act as a handheld like device.
