Europa Universalis IV

(also known as EUIV or EU4) is a grand strategy game of nation building, created by Paradox Development Studio. The game takes place between November 11, 1444 and January 1, 1821. Any nation that historically existed within this time is playable.

The game is essentially a historical sandbox game, with no defined goal. This leaves players free to set their own goals and choose their own style; colonization, warfare, diplomacy, trade, and religion are all included at the strategic level.
