Its fast-paced and team-oriented gameplay has stayed relatively the same throughout the years. The game consists of two teams (each team consists of five players), the Counter-Terrorists and the Terrorists. Each team fights to complete an objective or eliminate the opposing team. Although basic, it is considered one of the most revolutionary online games of all time.

Since December 6th of 2018, CSGO is now free to play, and features a Battle Royale game mode in addition to its traditional game modes.
