What flavor should you highlight from an oyster?
I've noticed some seafood restaurants put so much stuff on baked oysters, it completely overpowers the oyster. You could have baked a napkin, and it would have tasted just as good.

Roasting vegetables that have been cut on raw bacon board? Safe or not?
I cut raw peppers on the same board that I cut raw bacon on. I will be roasting these at 585F (305°C). Should I be concerned about contamination?

Raw Mincemeat cheesecake (uk christmas food)
I have this recipe for mincemeat* cheesecake, but it is a refrigerated recipe so it won't be cooked. Will the suet in the mincemeat even be edible?
Edit: so I made a fundamental mistake, the mincemeat in the jars is cooked and not raw.

Are cells living by the time you eat them?
Are cells living by the time you eat them? I'm guessing for very cooked foods they're quite dead, but perhaps (some or all of) the cells constituting certain other food sources are alive by the time they reach the mouth?
