Why don't we see fork boots anymore?
When I was younger, it seemed most mountain bike shocks had rubber boots on them, but now most seem to be "naked."
How important were the shock protectors that covered the exposed part of the piston - either the generic rubber boots or the neoprene…

What year is specialized stumpjumper sold? What rear shock does it have?
My rear shocks is leaking. I took it to the store and they do not fix it.
What model is it? Year?
And what FOX shock is it?
Does it worth to fix it? Or shall I buy something else?

Can I use any pump to fill up shock?
So I have a Fox float shock (a standard air shock) and I was wondering if I could use a regular tire pump or do I need a special shock pump to fill it back up? Also, are there side effects of using either one? It's a rear shock and low on air.

Why are rear shocks at a 30 degree angle and the mud-guards so high?
For bikes like these, why aren't the rear shocks (the shocks are directly above the pedal) vertical like those of a motorcycle? I don't see how the bike can take shocks when the shock absorber is at such a low angle.
