I'm a 'retired' Perl web developer having spent many years self-employed building web sites for SOHO clients. Most involved data that had to be accessible via a DB. I chose MySQL but have played with mariadb. Lately I've gone the SQLite route simply because getting MySQL to work any more seems to be a real bear. SQLite does all I need for now - only personal stuff nowadays.

I work in a Mac environment, running 2 iMacs (21" M1 & 27"). Having Apache available is a nice plus, and I like Terminal, spending half my time in it.

When I'm not coding or pulling my hair out, I spend time braiding parachute cord into bracelets, dog leashes, trivets, lanyards, etc.

Also love music - been getting more into jazz the past few years.

Recently bought an Acer laptop and installed Linux Mint Edge (which has several handy drivers native) to learn bash.
