What this tag is about
Several components of our Android devices support calibration, which in short words can be described as "adjustment for correct behavior". If you have an issue with calibration, or need information about it, this is the right tag to use.
What can be calibrated?
So to what components of our devices can this term be applied? When using the calibration tag, you will need to point this out by also adding the tag corresponding to what is to be calibrated. In our context, this could be e.g.
- battery: Batteries are calibrated to "make one charge last longer", i.e. make them use their full capacity. This should not be done too often to not wear them out (LiIo batteries don't take it well to be "run low"). - touchscreen: Cases where the touchscreen requires a calibration are rather rare. For an example, see e.g. Is there such a thing as touchscreen calibration
- sensors: Some sensors might need to be calibrated, and you find corresponding screens in the settings of your device. This might apply e.g. to the accelerometer or gyroscope, the compass, or the proximity-sensor.
