How to overcome ADHD related productivity loss?

0

I sometimes find myself losing focus on a task due to my severe ADHD (Stack Exchange doesn't help!). I'm not missing deadlines, but I tend to lose interest easily while I work or am doing something that I KNOW will benefit me.

I've seen this question regarding laziness. I like to thinks that I'm not lazy and not a procrastinator. Anyone that understands ADHD or ADD knows the struggles with focus, brain development, and forgetfulness.

I'm always full on energy, and at times I can hyperfocus on certain tasks. I tend to knock them out in record time when I do, but that doesn't always happen however much I need it to.

I'll add that creating lists, writing down reminders, etc doesn't work. I either forget to write the reminder, forget what to write, or can't remember where I put the materials.

Pharmaceuticals are 100% not an option.

How can I overcome the loss of focus due to this disorder?

I'm open to anything at this point.

You should check out Mindfulness meditation and give it a try. There are indications that it can be very beneficial for ADHD people. Google it and read more about it.
